Decking screws pulling out in Tracker proguide V17

I am redecking and recarpeting my tin boat and need a little guidance.

Before i pulled the decking off, i noticed several of the screws in the floor would pull up over time. I would try to tighten them back down but they would basically be stripped out. I tried a larger screw and got the same result after a few trips. I figure this is from the boat flexing, as this boat does not appear to be built very well. I found several welds that were broken that i am having redone. Overall the weld quality was pretty terrible. This is a 2007 model Tracker ProGuide V17.

So I was thinking of possibly trying out some type of nutplate or pressed bushing.

Anybody experienced anything like this?

Can it be pop riveted ?

Threaded rivets would allow for the decking to be removed if needed

I'm thinking this is the direction I am headed. A stainless steel machine screw should hold better than a self tapper.

I have replaced a few on the floor of my War eagle and drilling them out to remove is easy and threaded may loosen but IA have never seen any used .

I planned on using some green Loctite to prevent them from backing out.

Can u get to bottom of screws or bolts ?.

Only to small sections, so a normal nut and bolt would be impossible for a majority of the boat.

That's one of the problems with screws in sheet metal. They pull out.

I'd remove the screws and put long pop rivets in their place. For decks that may need to be removed somewhat frequently, consider riv-nuts.
