Can I run an aquarium pump from an inverter with out completely killing my start battery.
I have my 24 volt trolling motor wired to the two batteries for it. Always have done that.
Everything else is wired to start battery.
Just asking for advice.

Guess I should mention that I want to use my Yeti cooler to keep a pound or more fresh. Thought an aquarium pump with 4-6 inch stone would do the trick.

They don't draw much power. Most inverters are set to shut down before a stsrting battery becomes to discharged to crank an engine.
I have also in a pinch used a set of jumper cables to boost my starting battery off of my trolling batteries. It sure beat paddling an 18.5 foot bass boat
And those handy starting power packs the size of a cigarette pack work well for starting a low cranking battery. I use a 30 quart Engel cooler with a Frabill bubbler connected to the starting battery and never had a battery problem. I add a 4 lb block of Yeti icepack to keep it all cool and the minnows live for days.

Just use a 12 volt marine aerator and you wont need a inverter. The one I use has two hoses with air stones.

Here is the one G and I tun. I have mine rigged for 1 hose with a T to carry 2 minnow buckets and other hose to run livewell. Never had a minutes problem keeping minnows or fish alive. Plus I for one hate the idea of inverters in boats. Electricity and water in a boat don’t mix in my mind, now that’s just me. Plus this pump I think puts out as much or more than some of the better aquarium pumps. I have the 110 version on my 75 gallon holding tank in shop.

What G said is true of mine. The Frabill has two outlets for two hoses and two aerator stones. I merged the two into one so it would fit in the hole made for it on my Engel cooler. Two pressures into one stone makes plenty of bubbles. I also have the battery operated Engle aerator if I need to take the bait off the boat.Quote:
