I went fishing on a very swollen Black River this morning. I was hoping to get into a hole at the end of a ditch. When I got down there the floodgates that creat the hole were wide open. I fished some calm water for a while and then decided to go home.
But.... Fourche River looked good as I drove over it. Parked the truck. Got a jig pole out of the boat. Caught this guy about 25 yards from the highway!

That one last cast did good, congrats.
I wish that was the end of the story.... I got home and got to thinking I should go back to that river and catch some of his cousins. Back out on the water the wind kicked up and kept me from any productive fishing. I gave up and went back to the ramp. Loading my boat up I realized I had donated my wallet to the river some where along the way.

I always put my wallet in my ammo/tackle box.
Man that’s a tough donation!
I think I'm going to switch to a money clip kind of thing that holds a few cards and a little cash... that should fit in the front pocket of my jeans and solve the problem.
