This is really no help at all but before all the cold rain on 12/23 the area around Bobby Brown was loaded with fish. Clarks Hill got tough for me after that rain and I switched back to Murray. The crappie were still really good around structure though so that could be a good alternative if the stripers get tough.
I am still seeing boats and pontoons trolling for stripers up on that end of lake.
I have been catching crappie in the usual winter time places along with a few small stripes and WP in Broad river, Pistol, Newford, Russell and Patterson Creeks the last few weeks.
Watch the sonar and the birds for fish.
These winter winds help with the fish bite but tough on the fishermen and boat control.
Good luck, catch a bunch.
As info for those who use boat ramps up that way on South Carolina side the old truss bridge over little river on hwy 823 at Mt Carmel was taken down and construction of new bridge going on.

If fish are up near Bobby Brown's campground we will put in there. Thanks for info, we plan to go last of this month.
That area had been absolutely amazing a month ago. But those heavy rains have brought the lake up fast, and the Broad River area has lots of mud and floating trash, so be careful! I'm struggling so far.
Any one have any luck this weekend on lake?
Looking at the USGS guage. Clarks Hill received 3 more inches of rain in the last 24 hours. I would be heading to parts of the lake that tends to stay clearer.
Sounds like Little River,Ga. would be a better bet since the whole upper end is probably very muddy and trashy. Raining again until Wednesday adn then more rain over the next weekend is the forecast I saw.
