I believe that as long as you fish w/ kids occasionally, you can never really lose sight as to what fishing is really about.
I went w/ my niece to the river bank fishing today, thinking I'd show her how to catch catfish... needless to say she showd'ed me how to catch them yeller-bellies.
He looks like a true fisherman to me. I'm sure he enjoyed catching them.
I took my 5 yo son to a pond near our house last night. He caught one after another for the 45 minutes we were able to fish. He's offically "hooked" now. He came home and told his Mom he caught all the fish and Dad didn't even catch any. It's cute, as he didnt realize I spent my time baiting his hooks and teaching him to pull the rod when the bobber goes under, and unhooking fish. That's the most fun I've had not catching fish in quite awhile.
Thats what it is all about. Can't wait till my boy gets old enough to carry.
