Seems its its always about the money unfortunately, but what's the best Garmin to get for exclusive use with a livescope, considering the cost.
Just looking for your opinions.

93 SV for a starter.
It's hard to complain about the cost of a 93sv plus unit if you can get it on sale for $600 and it's a touch screen as well, but
long term you would be better off IMO with an Echomap Ultra unit. Yes the cost is allot more but me and some other people that I know had a very difficult time seeing this screen with Livescope in bright sunlight. I added an anti glare screen protector that helped some but ended up building a viewing box to look in. It worked good but you had to put your face right into the box to see the screen. So it depends if your just wanting to try Livescope, mimimun cost for unit and transducer $2,100 or spend $2,500 to $3,000 and have a system you'll be happy with for some time.
I have a 93sv, and IMHO it's perfectly fine. I can see it in bright sunlight, and screen size is great too. It's an "Echomap Plus 93SV" to be exact. I got it for $600 from BPS on sale. And with the Livescope transducer system, I absolutely love it, for one-poling, and for long-lining too.
Slab you must have better eyes than me and some of my friends, lol!
I went in a boat that had the 93sv, I liked it so much it convinced me to buy a a livescope and I bought a 1022, honestly his detail maybe better than mine, it’s raally about setting the screen color and sensitivity and distance and depth range properly, but if I really had it to do over again I’d probably go with the 15”, totally uneccesary but it’s just green paper
If cost is a factor buying the Echomap 93sv on sale and buying live scope unit from Brian at BBG on this site is the way to go. Get a anti glare protectors for all sonar screens. I have 3 of the Garmin Echomap 93sv units on my little boat and my old age eyes still find plenty of fish with 9 inch screens. No doubt bigger is better with sonar screens but you mentioned cost factor.
I use the 93 SV on my system, it works fine with live scope, but is not very good in 2d.

I have absolutely no issues seeing my 93SV. I’m water over 30’ deep the fish are pretty small but I don’t fish water deeper than that very often. I have used it for catfishing in 58-60 FOW and cats showed up very but they are much bigger targets.
