I use a plastic coffee stirrer when making slip corks out of Styrofoam floats. It's a tight fit so run a finish nail thru the straw and then run the straw thru the Styrofoam float. It works great.
I'll try that.
Also you could use a cocktail straws
Maybe too large, but I used oxygen at night and have a lot of Green tubing for that. Would have to put a ruler next to it to see, but think a little larger than 1/8", but maybe a little less than 1/4". I am not sure, but if you think it would work I will check.

There is some strong tubing used for spinner spacers that may meet your needs.
I found the coffee stirrers at a Wal mart store they should work good thanks all.
On the stirer straws, make sure the tube is no longer than the cork. I use them and have found that the line will spit it and then hang up when it should slide through. But trimming it down to the cork solved this problem...
