I don't live down there yet but have fished it several times a year for the last 10-15 years and I was down there a few weeks ago after my dad passed and noticed it was about 2' lower than normal on the lower end down by Wintzel's. Usually the water down there don't move much at all. Back in the spring when the upper part was up a few feet the lower end was barely up a few inches. I am moving down there by the end of the year and hopefully it's levels are back to normal.
Winter pool says 593 current level 593.65. But it does seam low to me .i haven’t ever understood the lake level here though it can be 4’ high on the north end and show only inches up at the dam ! :scratchhead
Yea that's what I noticed back in the spring. It was flooded pretty good up by Goose Pond Resort where the water was a 1' over the top of their dock by the restaurant but not even a inch or 2 up on the end down by the dam.
Seems about the same as last fall to me. Low enough I have to crawl off the piers to get in the boat.
They always lower it in the late fall for weed control to some extent. .they hope if it gets really cold , like tonight there will be more weeds exposed with it being lower and that it will kill it back deeper than if at full pool .It will cause more loose floating weeds for sure GRRRR

I agree they do seem to lower it during extended sub freezing temps.
Wheeler is a good bit low right now. Going over Whitesburg bridge it's very noticeable as well as below Guntersville dam.
