Oklahoma road trip
I went to Oklahoma yesterday to hop in the boat for a Wister trip the weather wasn’t the best but we did wack some decent fish. Started in the lake until the wind pushed us to the Fourch and into Holson Creek and the fish were definitely there it was still a little tough but without Livescope almost impossible to target the fish we ended up catching. The 9’ Todd Huckabee Hot Rod rigged up with K9 braid and Timmy Toms 1/16 weedless with Beaver Bottom Baits in an Ashdown Smackdown , White Lightening, Frosted Mug and WSD's most successful today Milkweed. Fishing submerged trees in 10-16 fow. All the Tackle we used you can get at Robs Tackle in Simple Simons in Heavner. Thank you WSD for the invite . Was great trip fishing with one of the best fishermen I ever fished with .Thanks for the baits too . Always great when I can visit with great fishermen and don't have to run the boat . You will always be welcome to visit Arkansas and you can run my boat .:fish About worn completely out by the time I rolled into Russellville last night . But it was well worth the trip .. A road trip to Oklahoma to fish all day and back in one day was rough on an old guy .

looks liked you wacked some good ones. we are going there for the first time in april for our annual father sons fishing trip. i hope we can find some toads but my big question is where is it safe to navigate? i can't find any info about timber or a hot spots map showing where it is. is it an open lake with timber in the rivers or is there timber all over the place?

It’s an open lake til you get near the rivers. Plenty of visible timber showing to warn you to slow down. Not a scary lake to navigate.
