I've used something like Flex Seal black on mine but it hasn't been on there long enough for me to know just how well it will hold up.
Kevin, give EZ a call. He can probably help you out. I know he has something he used to coat all his rod holders and pole carriers with that held up pretty good. If nothing else maybe plasti dip.

Tool handle dip. You can get it in the paint department at Lowes or Home Depot. Get the dip, not the spray on. Walmart may have it but I tend to stay out of
there as much as I can.
