You Will have to start early or fish after dark ! Lake lice will be horrible with the holiday weekend ! Should be lots of fish in or around Chanel edges /ledges on brush or in turns prolly will be some out on flats chasing bait early ! Good luck and have a safe trip!

thanks guys,we do love the early morning and late afternoons
Live close but haven’t fished Guntersville in several years. Let us know how you did. There are a couple of nice lakes about 30 to 40 minutes from Guntersville that won’t be very crowded if you have a 25 or less hp motor. Message me if your interested in the location.
Slabprowler is definitely right. You'll be able to walk across the lake on boats this weekend. If I HAD to catch a crappie this weekend on the big G, I'd fish under a bridge. Probably 69 causeway. Green submersible lights and late, late. I caught 4 crappie last Saturday evening but it was completely by accident. LOL Threadfin shad are about 3" long right now so keep that in mind when choosing a bait.
my wife and I had a great time at lake Guntersville state park this past weekend, but the fishing was not too great.we only managed 4 throwbacks the whole weekend with a few spotted bass caught, but all in all it was great relaxing weekend.thanks again for all the tips.
