Crankfest 2019: #Poundtown in #SLABTOWN
Oh my oh my, what a time we had! It was game on as soon as we launched the boat on Thursday! We had double limits on Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and then the gnats invaded on Sunday and really hampered where we fished. They were really bad Sunday morning.
Regardless, the quality of the fish we caught was vintage Mississippi crappie, and they did not disappoint. Jo Ann and I enjoyed our stay, and was just tickled to find a pattern so quickly, and never really had people around us until Saturday, and it still kept producing. If the bugs hadn't run us off Sunday, I'm pretty confident we would have had a 4th double limit. In the first 15 minutes of fishing, we had 5 keepers in the boat and a established plan of attack. Two of those fish were over 16" long and over 2lbs. We moved to 4 different locations trying to get away from those pesky gnats, and ended up loading it back up and headed north to Sardis. Ended the day with 10, but all good fish, and a fantastic trip that we will not forget for a very long time! Thank you John for working so hard to please everybody which is a thankless job.
