Lowrance Service centers

I need to have my HDS 7 repaired. Lowrance list local dealers like Sportsman Warehouse and West Marine as authorized repair centers.
Anyone know how that works? Do they actually repair locally or just send back to Lowrance, which I can do myself.
If you are curious, the power button stopped working.

Sea Ray did you try getting ahold of clear cast? I know on the last thread you talked about your power button not working it was mentioned. I also have an hds with the same problem but hadn't got a chance to call them yet so I was just curious.
