I Must Stand Up

And give thanks for everyone that answered the anonymous prayer request that Slab posted for me. Two weeks back i received a phone call that every father dreads. My baby girl, who you know as Bluegill Girl, let me know that she had been diagnosed with cervical cancer. I was crushed. There is a long story that goes along with this but i wont give the negative any time today. So for two weeks we have been waiting for an appointment that would give us the details we needed. I was wound up like never before waiting for some answers. Longer story less long, yes she has the cancer. But the excellent news is that it is stage 1 and v1. I had to have this explained. Stage one is as early as it can be detected and v1 means that it is visible with the naked eye but smaller than 4 centimeters. Now the words I had been waiting to hear.......100% curable. THANK YOU JESUS!!!! She’s a mom to a 5 year old fireball of a granddaughter and there is much too much for her to do, and I’m so thankful that she will have the chance to do it.

So now you have the news and the proof, there’s power in prayer. Never doubted it before and will never doubt it going forward. Thank You one and all for having our back in this time of need. I have said many times that all of you are my second family, and this is what family does for one another. I will update again after her surgery in about a month, shell have about a 6 week recovery. If I know her, shell be itching to be busy in about 3. I have run out of words, thats rare, so I’ll close and post this. Y’all are the best ever......Skeet.

Glad to hear the good news, having 5 daughters myself I can only imagine being told that. I hope and pray everything goes great for her, and y'all as well
