Crappie fishing with Jay 72919
I bought a couple of new colors from Bobby Garland Baby Shads and Jay was gracious enough to go with me this morning. We wanted to crappie fish a lot and catfish a little.
The new colors worked extremely well. Some crappie were up at a 7-9 count on a 3/32 oz jig, but most were deep and the bite was subtle. We landed 16 and the bonus fish today was one Bluegill and Jay had a double digit Drum alongside the boat and it straightened the Litewire hook out as I was getting ready to dip it. Grin. Jay said he would have been proud to take a pic with it, lolol.
Flow rate was 19,000 and 85 surface temp. 3/32 oz. jigs with various Baby Shads worked. Slab Sauce was used on all my jigs. I always use Slab Sauce, but never report it because I forget to. Blame it on my age. Love lol. My theory on Slab Sauce is that it never hurts to use it and sometimes if you don’t use it, then you won’t get near as many bites.
