A LONG NIGHT -- and a tough morning
I was at the Veterinarian waiting for them to open this morning - Holding Mr Mouse in my arms and close to death. We dont know if he will make it or what will be the Outcome as yet.. We purchased a Food Supplement that is mixed in the dog food. Yesterday was the first day adding it to the Science Diet , all six of them eat. Chicken Broth softens and adds flavor. The Supplement was being Marketed for a Vet from Calif. and have improved the health for many dogs at their Practice. it also contains several Beneficial Mushrooms and a long list of Ingredients .. Mr Mouse welcomed the new taste and ate it good for breakfast. About 6 PM all the dogs ate again. I did not see anything wrong because he was under the cover on the bed. I Let the dogs out about 1 AM but he did not go... when the others came in he had got out of bed and was SICK --- his Stomach was double the normal size -- then he tried to throw up but mostly nothing.. In Nov he had a cough that was not Kennel Cough was the way we found out the Old Man has an Enlarged Heart. He is 15 years old and been on 3 Heart Medicines almost 8 Months. Delma got on the Computer with his Bloated stomach , and Diarrhea , It said get the dog to the vet . The answering service gave us the number for the Emer. Vet in Monroe. When the wife called them ---- they said dogs dont get Bloated like Colicky and if there is loose stools he will be OK --- then hung up like they didn't want to be bothered. That was at 3 AM... and he got worse from there. At 8 he was a limp Noodle... Our Vet you could see the Smoke when I told him about the call to the Emergency vet in Monroe 45 miles away. Mr Mouse might not make it with his bad heart and the long time it took to get him in ... his chances are not good even the Anesthetic -- he might not wake up because his insides may be past anything that will make him better. It is almost noon -- waiting for that call
