Minn Kota Hand Control 80lb Thrust

I recently wired up my older minn kota hand steer, it works great but the handle is out of alignment. The arrow and the lower unit are in alignment but the handle and upper unit are all out of wack. Any pointers? Never worked on a trolling motor before...

Any way you can post a picture of what your talking about. Are you saying the handle is not pointing in same direction as prop?

Man I’ll try and get one posted tomorrow, but yes, the motor is pointed to the far left and the handle is pointed straight ahead or even to the right a little.

Look under the head unit. It should have a stainless screw that runs completely through the shaft to hold the head on. It’s either fallen out or has wallowed out the hole in head or shaft. That’s the only thing that keeps it aligned.
