Sunfish to the rescue
I was truckless 2 days this week and depended on where I could get to the water in this heat without not making it back :Rofl
I tried without success to ketch crappie at a spot I normally find crappie this time of year but to be sure I cant get one to bite in that spot so far this year .
So I thought well I am pretty sure I can put on a small jig and work it along the shore and at least ketch something .
Sure enough sunfish to the rescue it was and for sure they pulled well .
I did have a nice black bass roll on my float right by my feet as well and I think I saw a smaller one take a swipe at my jig one time .
about 16 inches deep along a rocky shore line in about 2 to 3 foot of water was where I managed to ketch them .
I used the creep it along back to me after long parallel to the shore casts presentation .
I wasn't totally alone in the shade under the bridge though and an old mud turtle hung around with me while I was there.
Yes I noticed the native bluegill looks like it missed being some other fishes dinner by a whisper …..
have a great weekend and stay cool and safe

A good trip, and in good company. I see lots of different critters that keep me company.

Nice looking fish, seems like you can always count on the Gills to bite. Getting hot here also, fish are headed deep.

Nice green sunfish and the rest! Love it when they bend my rod.
