Crankin it 2

Well I tried pulling cranks again even though the water is cleared up.
Got our very early thinking id pick off a few crappie before they hit the brush. Seemed logical to me.
Anyway, that plan flopped pretty much. I got 1 nice crappie, 2 cats, multiple small perch from about 645 to 9 am.
Then off to the brush piles.
Main lake, Wylie, flop
Torrence, flop 2x
Beaver dam, mostly flop but did catch 6 or so small crappie.

Met up with CK in Big Allison. Fished with him, a few perch.
Tried big trees area, got 1 nice crappie.
Tried Charles' Tree. Flop


So i came home with 2 fish.

Sorry you had a bust. It was Perch gone wild. :biggrin Grandson had a blast catching triples and doubles all the time. Two points paid off. We got tired of catching perch at 10:00. Tried my new jig pole system and caught 6 Crappie. Decided to go and look at my new side imaging.

Now hold on CK.
it was a bust only cause i wanted nice sized crappie.
I passed on the "pecker perch" roundup. But i got enough 8,9" crappie., perch, cats.

Brett I found that in clear to lightly stained water the cranks worked good until the sun topped the tree line then using cranks basically stops. They work better in stained to hard stained all day with catching different species. If you know of waters that have white crappie you will have better luck, caught some very good white crappie even in the clearer waters.

I enjoy seeing the report on cranking in our waters :cheers2

Im at the end of the rope hunting crappie.
Wylie only has black crappie.
I guess its brush or docks 100% of the time

Actually, now that you mention it. I was trying cranks on the sunny side of the creek.
Maybe i should try again and just stay in the shade.
When its gone, hit the brush?

Brett get you a couple of mid size Shaky Shads to pull with the cranks. You will like how they run fish crazy. When I'm pulling jigs on a slow day I tie a couple of the small size on and they always put a few fish in the boat. May be crappie, bass, white perch and a cat of two :)
