Green River Lake Father’s Day

My wife and I went to Green Sunday through Tuesday, fished between the rain storms. Sunday we trolled cranks with a 2 oz weight off the back and pushed them off the front 8-14’ in 14’ to 20’ water, only caught 1 crappie, a cat fish and a few small large mouth. Monday we switched to jigs, 1 crappie and gave up after 5 hours. The last couple of hours we fished the banks, caught decent sized green sunfish and a bunch of small bass. Tuesday we bank fished again and caught more sunfish so we have enough for dinner tonight. I guess all the rain and the full moon did not work in our favor ?

It can be like that at times. I know a guy that fishes Green, and he told me ..... one day I caught them out on the main lake, then the next time I couldn't find them on the main lake & ended up fishing in a creek to catch them.

That told me that the fish are roaming, big time, following the Shad.

According to this : Louisville District > Missions > Civil Works > Water Information > Updated Lake Temperatures and Dissolved Oxygen Lev > Green Profile .... the thermocline at the dam had dropped to the 20ft level last week (down from the 15ft level of the week before). You may not have been fishing in deep enough water :dono

I could see lots of baitfish balls everywhere but the crappie seemed to be no where near them on my electronics.

Saturday I had my best luck casting jigs 18-20 fow around cover. Fish weren't in it but they were around it if shad were near by

Crappie dayz what i have seen for the pass several weeks is one day the fish are on the flats following shad next day the fish would be there but no shad couldnt get them to bite and next day the fish are on brush. And the last few times i have been the fish was not aggressive and had to bounce it off there heads to get them to bite.
