High vis braid for finesse fishing.

I looking for the brightest color, smallest diameter braid that is stronger than 10 lb mono or floro when joined with a FJ knot. I am currently using 12 lb gliss, 10 lb slick 8, 10 lb 832, 8 lb ultra 8, and nano (test lb unsure) in moss green and white. In heavy current and wind these colors are very hard to see.

I think I like the fused lines the best as they are smaller diameter which allows deeper presentations with lighter baits in current. We fish for white bass, stripes, hybrids, crappie, bass, and sunfish here. None of them are line shy so the brighter the better. The finesse comes in as we try to fish as light as possible in the current over rip-rap. 10 lb floro or mono tippit is as light as i want to fish in the rocks.

I am thinking hot pink, blaze orange, or neon yellow in color.

I’m using Sunline TX1 in 7#. Haven’t had too many changes to use it yet, but so far so good.

never mind, I don’t have enough experience to recommend it. And based on the review at TW I’d be wary of it.

interesting read in that there is braid out there that don't fade in color after a while ?

You might look into Fireline in their flame green color. Like Ketchn says though, the color over time will probably fade. But that's easy to replace and cost effective, if you get it in the 300 yd. spool. And the 4# test will have a sufficiently small diameter and yet be incredibly strong to boot. Win-win.

I personally use Fireline Crystal in 2# test, wtih a 3' fluorocarbon leader in #4 test. I find this combination gives me incredible casting distance along with the abrasion resistance I need at the business end. Being 74 I have no problem seeing this white line when I need to. However, remember this, any braid you use will be ultra sensitive and you'll feel them (through the rod) literally breathe on the line, before even seeing the twitch. JMO! :)

Unless there is something new I am unaware of all braids are naturally white. The color is applied with a coating which fades with use.

You would be correct. My camo Sufix braid has been loaded for 3 years and just now getting signs of fading in the top 20 yards.

Of the ones I have the white lines are the easiest to see. However, in white water and foam they disappear also especially at longer distances. I might give the line green a shot. I have used blaze orange in the past with success.

I use glow vis spider wire on my bait caster and its insanely easy to see. Supposed to be super visible above water and invisible underwater. I can still see it under water and it glows in the dark supposedly. I have the 15# on my baitcaster but on a crappie setup the 4# would be amazing. Fished it 10 times or so and no fade yet.

I picked up a spool of 6# flame green. It works well except for the fading. The first several feet have already completely faded to white.
