Convince Me
My new old boat, that I bought last year, has a 36 volt Motorguide TM. It is no problem in cam water, but works me to death during wind and wake. I am a single pole guy, and am intrigued by the spot lock/anchor feature. Also, I had a Co-Pilot on my last boat, and preferred the remote to the foot pedal. I run Lowrance electronics, but since I don’t troll, I’m not really concerned about linking the TM to the electronics.
Considering all of this, I talked with Brian @BBG yesterday, and have pretty much decided on a 36 volt Terrova. The convincing part that I need: Do I replace a TM that is in good working order with a new Terrova? Will the Spot Lock be worth $1900? Please share your opinions.

Get a ultrex you wont be dissapointed

Is it worth it ??? you bet, if you have the funds -- You said the boat was new to you -- If you wanted to sell at some time it might be the thing that makes the new owner really want to buy -- Long lining - pulling Crank Baits - fishing a Deep waypoint.. It could even be considered a safety reason to buy it now .. we had a person last fall had his boat get away when launching.. He swam to try and catch it -- Loosing his Life. If he had spot Lock the boat would never have got away

Bought an Ultrex from Brian last Sept and was convinced the first trip out that we made an excellent purchase. I "could" but "won't" fish without this technology again. I was late to the party but it has been a real game changer for us. You will not regret the purchase. :fish :ThumbsUp

I bought a riptide PDV2 with auto and co pilot. Does everything I need to do but also falls short on some things. I gave $1400 for mine and have long wished I had bought the terrova. Now the question has become; do you want to be like me? If you spend the money now, all that’s left is to enjoy it.

Lowrance and Motorguide are both coming with new trollers soon,I'd wait just a little while longer and see what they have to offer...I've got a xi5 linked to a Lowrance, lots of features I use that I thought I never would have.
