Any advice or tips are appreciated. I plan on just tieing off to a visible tree like I've always heard. But didn't know if there is any other advice I can get. Thanks!

When I night fish like to set up on travels lanes points, channels.or drop offs. Humps another good spot. Like to use a submerge or two type of led light. May it be white or green, these are what draw the bait fish in no bait fish be very few crappie. I order my lights from Amazon they are small but very bright. I will also use some sort of light fixture upon the boat so I can watch my lines.

This time of year I would set up on deep brush piles or points. I use the 24 inch green alumiglo from fighinglightsetc.com and have another as a back up. I typically fish two rods and if I don't sink the light very far I can see my rod tips pretty good. I fish LOZ and tie up on some docks where I have permission; otherwise I just drift with the trolling motor.
If you’re going to spend several hours running lights, electronics, live well, etc. make sure your crank battery is up to the task or you’ve thought out an alternate way to start your outboard. Please allow me some dignity and don’t ask how I know.
That right there is wisdom. Not in a book stuff. What I said rowing back one night.
That is a good point...I was towed back to the ramp one night after sending morris code to the only boat out at 2 amWhite Flag Icon...I would tote along a separate deep cycle battery for your light and have some jumper cables just in case. And I'm telling you...that alumiglo is the real deal you just need one light in the water.
