Probably a soft tissue tumor :
Tumors (fibrous or fatty tissue in well-defined lumps) are uncommon in fish. Tumors may be caused by contaminants, so check fish consumption advisories for the waterbody of origin before eating a fish with a tumor. Continuous tissue injury, infections, and damage to genes by viruses or chemicals can cause cells to alter or replicate quickly and produce tumors.
I am waiting on the FWC biologist to get back to me. I don't plan on eating that one. [emoji2] , I have plenty of normal fish for dinner

I'm curious to what it is also. If I catch one like that I will promptly remove it from the gene pool via a Mossberg 500. :yikes
You would think the wildlife biologists would want to disect that fish and find out what it is.
