Chickamauga Fishing Report 5/23/19 Solo
With all the pro bass guys on the lake almost didn't go this morning. But decided to go anyway, with having to work this weekend. My first and only spot today where I sat for about 3 hours pulling crappie and one spot into the boat. All the while, bass guys fishing all around me, some even asking to fish beside me. I just smiled and said of course, and kept netting the crappie while they were coming up empty. The action wasn't fast just steady. The brush pile is in 22' fow sitting in the outside bend of a submerged creek channel, the fish were at around 10' deep when I started this morning around 8:30. As the sun went higher the fish went deeper. When I put number 15 in the livewell the fish had moved down to about 18'. Caught several fish in the 11" - 13" class, though a TARP still alludes me. Water temp on the surface was 78.8 at noon. Being deeper brush I used 3/16th litewire hook, the colors for the day were BG baby shad 2" Screamer and BG Slab SlayR 2" Gumdrop.
