Grand bayou?
Anybody been fishing grand bayou lately? Me and the wife are thinking about going one evening this week and trying it out since our normal place is messed up from all the high water.. we've never fished it before, so could anybody help me out as far as where the crappie will be this time of year? I'm figuring they'll be in deeper water but really have no clue. Thanks

I haven't fished GB since march but you're right they'll be in deeper water (20'-27' fow) tight in and around brush but they'll also be out in the many 18'-20' flats chasing baitfish. It's a good place to spider rig or pull/push crank because there is hardly any underwater structure besides brushpiles and tops folks have put out. When you put in at the resort landing you'll be in the shallower part of the lake. Head down toward the dam (due east) and start looking for the channel on your depth finder. Then start looking for brush in and around the channel and start jigging it good (or use shiners) or spider rig around the channel edges (I like to criss/cross it) looking for baitballs. I know this is pretty vague and broad info but it's what I would have to do to go find 'em right now. Good luck, hope to see you post a nice mess!
