Good pics longarm!:)
That sure is pretty.;)
I bet there are some big slabs around those cypress knees. I would love to put a jig by them and see what I would Catch!!:D
I was just talking about this tonight...as we are fishing in wide open water with NO cover or anything...how nice would it be to use my new mitchell reel on my new daiwa rod (GREAT COMBO!!) down around those big' ole cypress trees....that long rod would be great for it...what do most of you use down there? I use all spinning reels with usually shakespeare rods, nothing special.

Thanks for the pictures. I used to love to fish Cypress trees up Little Maumelle.
Longarm how appropriate. Nice photos man. Next time include some of some big ole slabs with those trees in the background.
Before the cold snap and rain the water was running about 70 degrees and the average fish was a true slab at over a pound. Sunday evening the water was 59 degrees and when I finally caught a crappie it wasn't much bigger than the minnow I was using. I'm hoping that as the water warms things'll get better. I hope to get a chance this weekend to try again and I'll let you know, and even post some slab picks for Gooch.
As to equipment, we've been using 10 and 12 feet crappie poles. I usually jig and my wife prefers minnows and we were catching about the same number of fish-go figure.
Longarm what lake is that?
This is on Seven Mile Lake near Gregory in Woodruff Coutny.
