Trolling motor batteries
Hey everyone one . I have not been on heat in a while . It’s good to be back . I’m in need of a couple of trolling motor batteries. Does anyone have any suggestions on which ones to buy . I have been looking at the AGM batteries , but have not decided on a brand or place of Purchase. Any help would be greatly appreciated thank you very much in advance

I prefer group 31 Duracell batteries and Minnkota battery 5 amp per bank charger. Run them all day, and fully charged by morning. TM 80 pound thrust, 24 volt Terrova on a 16' deep-v aluminum boat.
I have not found a need or been able to justify the additional cost for AGM batteries.

I run the group 31 Duracell AGM's from Sams. I run a Ulterra 24 volt 80 lb thrust and a bait tank off of one.Have yet to run them down. No watering batteries or corrosion to deal with from acid leaks. Plug the charger in anytime. No memory.

I run (2) Walmart Deep Cycles. I've never ran them dead. I prefer Duracell or any East Penn battery. I usually buy the best deal at the time.
I've owned AGM batteries. I don't believe they are worth the extra money.

Interstates are my choice.

I get great service out of WalMart group 31's. Mine are dated 4/14 and still running strong. The key to longevity is a on-board charger.

My last three WalMart Maxx deep cycle batteries last between 5-7 years each. Also have one of those Optima Blue Tops that is going on 6 years.
I think that the key to my 'luck' with batteries is that I charge them immediately after a trip and keep them charged in off-season.

I decided on Optima batteries mostly because servicing a battery in my cramped center console would be a pain. I bought 2 Optimas and one died inside the warranty period but stupid me had thrown out or miss placed the receipt. No matter what you buy make sure you put the receipt in a pint freezer ziplock and then Gorilla tape it to the battery or the battery compartment.

When you buy those batteries, take a photo of the receipt and keep it on your phone. I learned the hard way too.
