Lake Barkley, Eddy Creek
I'm heading down to Lake Barkley on Saturday. I am staying at the Palisades resort directly across from the Eddy Creek Marina. I was wondering if anybody had any tips or secret locations they are willing to give up.
I am taking a newbie to crappie fishing with me and as captain I would like to put him on some slabs.
Thanks!

I checked out Eddy Creek yesterday (Sunday) The water is getting rather muddy. I love to fish this area, with it like it is looking I think I would trailer over to Kentucky Lake. If you are set on fishing the bay I would recommend fishing the old creek channel paying special attention to bends and turns. There is an old road bed that runs adjacent to the levey that could hold some fish this time of the rear. That same old road bed turns west and follows the north side of the bay pretty much out to the mouth of Eddy Creek. I would advise anyone to look at the water color first. Kentucky Lake is not as suceptible (sic) to mud. THE BANDIT

Are you talking about the side of the eddy creek near Holiday Hills and further on back? I will be staying on Barkley and fishing mostly up and down Eddy creek. I don't know where much is there, I only know it by landmarks and such.
What kind of bait do you like around there? I usually jig over stumps and such or use minnows on dropoffs and structure. I am not setup for spider rigging and all that stuff.
Thanks for your response.

No the side that I fish mostly is on the lake side of the levey. I use Jigs exclusively. The land marks I am speaking of are all on the marina side of the bay. Get a good map and you will see the structures and the creek channel I am talking about. THE BANDIT

Sorry to bother, but where can I get one of those maps you are talking about? Thanks for all your help.

I am sure that Eddy Creek Marina has them, also you can check Tom and Barbs just north of the bay by about 2-3 miles. They are on the right as you travel north. I get all my trip supplies there, good people. I may go today to Eddy Creek. If I do I will post information for you about the trip.

Yep I went yesterday. I take back the muddy water part. The lake really cleared up in just two days. I managed to catch about 25 in a half a day of fishing. The fish that I kept were real nice 1 1/4-2 pounds. I also caught a number of smaller fish. as I said check the creek chanels and drop offs. there is a ton of structure in the bay. Some of which I put in and some others have put in. I caught some of the larger fish on a jig that a bait company furnished for me to try out. His company Timmy Toms baits, He post here so you might contact him if interested. I hope you catch a bunch.
