Hey guys,
I'm trying to get into crappie fishing. I think I'm presenting my jigs pretty well, but I have yet to catch a crappie...
Right now I'm fishing in Big Lake at Umstead. Is there a particularly good crappie spot I'm just missing? Or should I try one of the other Umstead lakes?
I hear Jordon Lake is good for crappie but I've found it very hard to fish there without a boat.
Thanks for any advice!
He you tried the walkway from the dam?? crappie fished there I. Past with minnows and killed them. I think this year crappie fishing is all messed up
Like on the concrete bank? Only a little bit a few weeks ago. I was having issues with people trying to sit down beside me and watch. 🙄 I can try again though.Quote:

follow the signs you can park,in horse trailer area and not a bad walk. Go,out on the bridge at big lake but yes people at Umstead do,get in the way the bank across from the boat house is supposed to be greatQuote:

To get to small lake When you come into the park off US 70 go past the welcome center and make first left heading toward the handicap access for big lake. Follow signs and than you will make another left toward the cabins. There is a huge lot just before cabins you can park in. Last time I was there the cabins are now open again for camping so you may actually get to drive down toward cabins and park. The nice thing there is no people walking and a nice dock to fish off of. On big lake I would take a walk across from the boat house most people don’t head out that way and it’s and the walkbridge are two best spots I know of.
