Year round habitat South of I10 question (Southeast La)
Okay I'm fairly new to chasing these tasty Sacs and wanting to create year round habitat for me to take my grandkids, nieces and nephews.... Im doing the same thing i did for Speckled trout fishing, I picked one area (Reggio and Delacriox cause they both connect pretty much) and i would run my route, stick and move, stick and move and master that area.
I after all my research and studying, I have decide on making some brush piles and but them on under water points, so I need contour maps, well Des Allemands (my area to master) doesnt have any contour maps, so im making my own with my Solix.
Yesterday i Autocharted for an hour and coverd about 360,000 sq.ft of the main channel and it surprised me that i didnt find one brush pile.... i did find underwater laydowns, stumps etc....(no sacs)
My oldest son and i where talking about my findings ( I know this is just a small area i mapped and will do alot more mapping) I believe that either 1: South Louisiana, south of I10: you fish, based off seasons, the crappie spawn, then you move to chasing trout cause they are in the marshes and close to the docks etc, then the Speck spawn just about after Fathers day you move closer to the beachs and then your on the beaches and then its almost hunting season. Or 2: most people just fish blow downs that they can see, trees and rigs and or beat a bank...
What are your thoughts on this?
Once i purchase my Zero lines card i will be sharing the contour maps on Humminbird Autochart Live share for those that which to have such thing for that area.
