It was a Hodgepodge day fer sure.

The main reason for getting on the lake yesterday, was to check the recently replaced Impeller. ( Thanks for your post Skeetbum ). Took longer than expected, company sent wrong gasket seal in the repair kit. Anyhow all turned out GOOD!

Water temp was 64, air temp 50, early morning no wind, but it increased as day progressed. Started out spider rigging and caught 1 fish in two hours. It just felt good to be out, didn't want to leave yet, so I changed tactics. I put up my long rods and went to casting a roadrunner with a curly tail. OH Man! I haven't done this in a long time and it was FUN!:biggrin

Ended up catching 4 nice Specks, 2 catfish, 1 coppernose Gil, 1 small bass. I also caught an unknown, maybe an alligator gar? I know his back had hard ridges on it.:dono

Next thing I knew it was closing in on 1pm, I was a lucky guy.:ThumbsUp

I'd say "hodgepodge fun". Not knowing whats on the other end of the line is part of it all sometimes. Great job, thanks for sharing.

Hey Doug, Its called a Hawg Trough, I used a sharpy, but now they have Pre-lined ones.

Those are the days that keep you coming back. I like the days when you leave the house with an idea in mind and before you come home, you’ve dug waaaay deep into your bag of tricks and had a stellar day. Those days are also not measured by the numbers or weight, but by the feeling of elation that you take home after the boat is on the trailer. Nice looking fish Marv, and I also like the trough. Looked at the pics I just posted on the bluegill forum and realized that I might as well have posted them on the carpet cuz there are no visible numbers. I need something better and that might just be it. Hope you get back out soon......
