Finally got on the pond!
Went out yesterday, with a neighbor and caught a big skunk. Haven't been out since Oct. Surgery didn't work - almost worse. Toured the new level - they topped off - then dropped the level ~2'. Hope it' not a new trend and they need to stop now for the spawning fish. Had to swap batteries to get going......
Talked with Prankster and he suggested I start where I finished last year. Of course I didn't listen to him - so 1st thing this morning me and the neighbor took off to the dam. Long troll for nothing. Went back to the island and found a fish for me and one for Jeff - which was very encouraging. Fished ~24' - water temp was almost 60*. We saw 54* on the south side. Need to do some fine tuning.
1st CNBG for the season

Sorry to hear about the surgery, hope finding some big gills soon will be better medicine.

You guys got Southern Cal by the bag....that's a good thing!!

Nice first fish of the year, hopefully many more are in your future. Those two fish are bigger than the 4 of the ones I caught this evening put together.

Which rods were you guys using?

Glad you got out and got some, and shared some good company too. I wouldn’t get all upset about the surgery yet. Every time I’ve been worked on it has taken a long time to settle into what I would have for the rest of my life. I’m hoping real hard that it gets better a little every day. The fish are just taking it easy on you til you get to feeling better. Soon.....
