Decided to try Quintana for the first time today. Wind was strong, so I was limited to where I could fish. Water was muddy and the temp through most of the areas I went was about 55. Found some stained 60 degree water in some of the dead end canals and that’s where I caught my fish. Black and chartreuse hair jig tightlined 1-2 ft deep in 3-4 fow on cypress trees. Fish were scattered and they wanted it dead still. Worked hard for them, but it was a productive first trip learning the area. Finished with 8 keepers all 9-12”. Caught some smaller sacs and even picked up 2 bass. They were full of eggs so I put them back. Even caught a sac with a racing stripe! It was a good day learning new water.
