Family Trip - Lake Marion (Santee)
Wife, daughter and I will be coming to fish Lake Marion for the first time in March. Usually we fish Sinclair or Oconee but are looking to see some new country. We like to dock shoot but can troll if needed or single pole jig. At our GA lakes if you aren't fishing docks 10ft plus your wasting time.... In FL on Crescent and Talquin its a little different depending on water temp and time of year, for dock fishing.
Can someone PM some general knowledge of Marion... Timing is March 15th for the trip. I'm assuming like most lakes the fish begin moving out of channels to creek mouths, then back of creeks and banks as water temp approaches 50degree plus. However, I have seen some videos of folks single poling grass mats in the shallow areas of Santee in December???
I don't need your secret fishing hole just general knowledge of where to begin this time of year, maybe jig color dark/light? and water temp? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
I can trade some information on Talquin or Crescent if needed we just returned from there last week and had a fabulous 3 days.
