ky lake this weekend??? HELP!
I am heading down tonite after work ( thursday) and I have several of my friends comming down to fish for the weekend,,, Im new at ky lake ( 1.5 yrs) and I know that the cold have probably moved the crappie deeper,,I do have some shallow spots we have been fishing 3 weeks ago but my question is locating the deeper fish,,, Im 1 cove noth of shawnee bay resort,, and looking for help in locating deeper places to fish this weekend,, do you think trolling the mouths of bays might work, say from shawnee bay up to the moores? if so what would you use? heavier jigs, road runners, or minnows? any suggestions would help,, I have had the trip planned for months and would like my friends to catch a few, thanks
I Think You Are Right To Look Deeper
I Think You Are Right To Look Deeper. I just got home and haven't had a chance to go yet but I've been gathering info, studying and planning. I don't know the area that you're fish'n but I'm gonna start out trying the deepest water I can find back in the bays not out towards the mouth. I'm gonna "back track" these suckers till I find'm! Even with the harsh cold weather I just don't think the fish have move way out. I believe they are gonna move just far enough to get comfortable and the slow rise of the lake will keep them in the bays. Plus the wind and rain has stained the water a little. That should help the water soak up the sun better. I'm gonna vertical jig and downsize my presentation and stick and move! Now I want to qualify this by saying; I have been wrong before! :D
