ever paid thismuch for just a rod for panfish?

380 dollars for just the rod alone for crappie lol for that price id think it had magnets that chase the buggers and doesnt even come with a reel i dont see even spending over 45 for a rod for panfish u can get a great one from bass pro for 29 dollars there has to be only like 10 people on earth that would buy that rod at full price
They are chasing the JDM (Japanese Domestic Market). I have a rod wrapping catalog (Matagi Style Book), from Japan, that list St Croix blanks along with their Aji and Mebaru blanks. Buy what you can afford- it all works.
Wait till you check out fly rods or trolling rods.....

I have three rods a friend made for me,( its his hobby), i never had a real good quality rod growing up and decided to do it. I order all the materials i want used , he adds a few things . he would not take any money for building the rods when done but i always give him a gift cert. for something. Anyway the cost always seems to be just a little over $200 when done. Two of the are for salmon- steelhead and one i use for crappie. I dont regret one minute the money spent. I have always ordered the materials from Mudhole. The blanks have all been MHX, im not a rod builder , i just fish.
if it was Guaranteed to catch a 5# CRAPPIE Naw I buy all at Garage sales and clearance racks ....and repair if needed..
Yes....here are a few I own....plan on purchasing about 50 more before I can no longer fish.
