Sinclair 2/14

Fished 8:30 until 5:30. Started in Rooty and bite was real slow. 12:30 moved to Nancy and started hammering them. WT 50-54. Water depth 20-40'. Fish suspended @ 12' to bottom. Best color for us was probably a Tennessee Shad paddle tail, some call it a crappie snack grub, on a plain head that I clear powder coat. Left Rooty with 6 fish, ended in Nancy with 36. All over 10". Threw back a bunch of 9" fish. Best fish was 1.78 lbs. with 2 at 1.5 lbs. All in all a great day on the water. Thanks for the report, I have to work to Wendsday, but will be back at Sinclair on Thursday.

I just bought my first boat. I love to fish, but all I have ever been able to do is fish off the bank or a dock. I throw a worm or minnow on the hook and hope I catch a fish. I found this forum and now I am hoping you guys can/will help me learn just how you do it. Any in depth in techniques, gear and how to use it all would be much appreciated. I will be spending the majority of my time on Sinclair and some at Oconee and probably rarely visit somewhere else. Also, would you guys suggest a good place to dry store my boat at a reasonable price. Catching fish like the ones above would be awesome!! Thanks!! Matthew 4:19

You will get a lot of advice on here but it is hard when you are just starting out and you learning how to use your new boat and fish for crappie, that is a double whammy. If you want a leg up, it would be really worth the money to go fishing a guide on the lake you like the best. You will learn how they handle the boat and get a years worth of learning in a day's trip. Other wise is it a lot of fishing all day and learning from what the crappie tell you. Remember early in the year a lot of days the crappie really turn between 4:00 and 6:00 and bite like crazy up to dark. Good luck. You ARE in the right place. Read a LOT of posts in different forums on here and ask.There are forums for about everything you want to learn about. Most of the folks on here will gladly offer advice. Take what works for you and forget the rest.

Great report!!! Looks like Sinclair has some decent fish.
