Substitute for Yo Yo's
I grew up fishing for crappie (sac-a-lait for those who don't know any better) in Louisiana using yo yo's. We'd set them out during the full moons of Jan, Feb, and sometimes Mar. Dangle a shiner juuuuuust under the surface. However, since they are illegal here in Texas, I want to ask if anyone here as ever tried spider rigging some poles at night during the full moon and fishing minnows just under the surface. We would tear them up on yo yo's. I'm thinkin' spider rigging will work just as good. Just not as many hooks in the water. What thinkest you all??

If I was going night fishing this time of year I probably can catch all I can legally have with one rod and reel. I use to night fish all the time for bass and have done a good bit of crappie fishing at night with the green lights and such. There are some docks here that you can limit out at night pretty easy I think!
Actually this lake has so mcc wood spider rigging is something I have never tried and really son't want the hassle, prefer to relax at fishing and still ketchn at my age. Just can't imagine fighting all that many lines and if they were to get tangled one time, that would probably be it for me, lol!
