Back out on Big Allison this morning. Water was pretty muddy at the boat landing but cleared up a lot down as we got about 1/2 to the main channel. Water temp was 46.
Found 1 point that was holding perch but we had to be drifting to get them to bite. Caught about 80 in total but only about 12 were of any size. Also, picked up 1 cat & 1 crappie.
Bait today was worms, spoons & cut perch.
Headed to wateree in the morning.
Didn’t get to Allison early enough to see ya!! I put in at Buster Boyd and went up to Catawba Ck. that didn’t work out. Found a few on the main channel. Finally got to Allison about 1:00 and caught them close to the powerline. Tried the second point on the right side coming into Allison and hit the jackpot!! Caught about 40 with 25 being goodun!! Also got a flathead on the spoon. Ole YellerNose spoon sucked today!! Kastmaster was the best today.

Isn't the Flathead supposed to be the best tasting of the catfish family? Seems I read that somewhere. All my cats have been either Channels or Blues, so I haven't had a chance to try one.

Sea ray, I tried a flathead a couple weeks back that I caught at Monticello. About 8 pound, the meat was white and soft. I had heard the same thing about being the best. It was ok, but didn’t have much taste, I wasn’t impressed so I won’t keep another one.
