Those are some big guns! Nice looking jigs.
6 pound power pro with a floro leader 6 pound and fastened uni to uni. I also use Bear Claw keeper and a 6 inch snell 18 inches above. I tie feathers or something on my snells hook eye.

I have never tried any jig over 1/4 Oz for crappie, but in summer that is exactly what I do when fishing deep and it helps a lot especially if there is a little too much wind for a 1/16.

Skip, I agree, but when the wind really cranks up I go to a bigger jig. In the tree tops I like to know exactly where my jig is. If I get blown off and get cranked up on the troller a smaller jig can get left behind the boat and get pulled up a while before it settles back in. Trust me I like fishing smaller jigs.
