Mounting H'bird XM 9 20 MSI Transducer on 6" jack plate?

Is that possible or feasible? I have a Mega 10 SI at the console and the left side of the SI image is dark. I've replaced the live well strainer with a screen washer as Rickie suggested, I've raised, lowered, moved, raised and lowered the Ducer countless times. I have a 6" manual jack plate. Still the left side image is darker than the right side.

Do you guys think putting the ducer on the bottom of the jack plate would eliminate the dark side? I'm not sure I can mount it to a 6" jack plate anyway. Might not have enough room but I think I would.

Thoughts, suggestions?

Have you tried temporary mounting your trandsducer on a stick just for testing? I know that my left side is usually always darker on my boat as well, but then I usually cruise past objects and the shoreline on the drivers side. Hence shallower water on the right side, deeper water on the left. If you mount your transducer temporarily on a pole you could spin it 180 degrees quickly and see if the darker side moves with the rotation of your transducer or not. I also have to tilt my motor up to get brighter images on my left side. Let us know what you find out.

I typically scan as you said, with more shallow water on the right, but I started doing that because the left side is darker. I failed to mention that there are usually dark lines on the left side, not just darker color. I'll try the ducer on a stick and see what it does. Thanks for the ideas and responses.

Transducer Shield and Saver makes brackets for many jack plate manufacturers (except for the one on my boat, of course). I'll be running one of their brackets when I swap out to a 6" Hydro Dynamics plate.
