I made a umbrella rig the otherday with some wire i had sitting around. I was at bass pro and got home and gave it a shot. Its kinda got some random lures on it. One is a spinner bait that was pretty roughed up so i cut off the blades and put them on and bent the wire and used the head of it. And put a 1/4 oz jig on the other size and some 1/16 oz heads. Also i cut the skirt off the spinner bait it looks better but here it is. 30 min of down time and a trip to the garage
Those green fish don’t care if it’s homemade all they see is the school ! Great job that will catch em!
Several years back I found some Alabama Rigs online that are super light weight, the head is Plastic. So I tied some gnats which have no lead in them and put one on each arm. Had planned on trolling with these, but just never have yet. Part of the reason is the last two years spring here has been bad with flooding and such so that has helped put that off for me anyway!

Actually it's just been sitting in my tying room for something like 3 or 4 years, but I do plan on this spring seeing what happens with it. I traded one of the rigs untied for a great deal for me and still have 5 more that I have not tied anything for yet. See Picture below...Quote:

Made one years ago using small diameter piano wire and bass fishing worm weight as a head. Put 4 small 1/16 jig heads on and curly tail bodies. Threw it a few trips that summer and caught a few fish, weird part was they always hit it as it was falling, a steady retrieve did nothing. Sits under the boat console now, might try it again this summer.
Big difference in these is the head is plastic so very light weight and the jigs have no lead on them either so super light weight. I am trying to figure out how to get a weight on it.Quote:

Okay figured a decent way to weigh these. Looks like the one with the gnats on it will be just over 1/8 Oz and the ones with nothin on them are 1/8. However I have had it in the water just to look at it and it almost floats along while going very slow. I will not have to worry about them running very deep. This I can pul them in 4' of water easy and it will probably run maybe 2' down?
