Clark's Hill 04/06/07
Me and a buddy of mine went to the Hill Friday 04/06/07. We were scared the strong cold front coming through might knock the fish in the head, but it didn't seem to hurt. We had our limit about 2:00 and were able to cull through some of our smaller fish until about 5:00. It was an unusual trip from my experience. Most of our fish were good females that had already spawned, yet they were still in 7 to 12 feet of water. I've always had a hard time catching post spawn fish especially trolling. These however were extremely active. We had 4 or 5 that probably would have been around 2 lbs. if they weren't so thin. They looked like a lot of pond crappie that I have caught before. We were fishing creeks on the South end of the lake. Jigs with green or blue seemed to be our best baits. For you feather hunters out there, we saw a good gobbler strutting around in a controlled burn area with 2 hens and a jake. We were able to idle the boat to within about 40 yards. We blew the boat horn and everything and he didn't seem to care. I'm not a turkey hunter, but I had to use the tie down rope to restrain my partner from jumping out. That probably about wraps up my trolling until the fall. Planning on trying Oconee at night in about 2 or 3 weeks. So, if any of you get out with the lights before then, let me know how you do.

Great job,I fish Sinclar most of the week. We didn't have much luck. We did do some cleaning up around the cabin and got some trees put out to fish around later. Hope everone had a good Easter.
