Monticello 12-23
Well we got bait and some hotdogs at the G mart in Chester. Launched at the 215 ramp and rode out on slick water. We picked up where we left off on Wednesday and picked up a quick dozen 10-14" perch in about 6o' of water. We poked around and got into some shorts, fed the loons then the wind picked up. Rode up lake to find some sheltered water with fish and couldn't do it. Went back to the first spot and was in rough seas and couldn't stay on those big fish. So we headed towards the SE corner and took a big wave and a splash of spray on the wife! Well when the wife is taking spray in the face with howling winds..........Time to head in. It was a challenge getting back on the trailer in pounding waves.
BTW, the weather forecasters aint worth a cent. Light and variable turned into 15-20MPH and those that know Monty, it gets uncomfortable to fish. Also with no rain in the forecast, it is pouring in Chestertucky. :banghead

It was a strange day, breezy at daybreak then slick calm and then white capping!! We managed 30 keeper perch but only got to keep 1 out of 4-5 so we caught a lot. Caught 12 bass and 2 kitty fish. All were caught on spoons in 30-45 ft. Also got home before dark. I’d call that a good day anytime. Can’t wait to go again. Maybe Wednesday!!!!!!

That 215 ramp is brutal when the wind is howling. I always use the 99 ramp although if the wind is blowing there it is rough as well.
