Well I am so glad I gave Harris another shot yesterday, the day started off really slow I fished from 6:45 to 9:30 without even a bite, I made one move and stayed in that spot till 2:00 I ended up using 6 dozen minnows by myself i ended up with 30 crappie and around 20 mixed bag fish, had a great time and the next to last fish I caught was 1lb 14 oz almost had one of those 2lbers lol. I guess me and my son are going to try it again tomorrow.
My girl and I went Sun. 11/25. First time ever fishing there but we will be back for sure. It was slow for us but we managed to get a couple of 2 lbers that were 13.5 in long and 5 in wide.... some nice 1 1/2 lb white perch and even managed to find a fat ole 6lb bass that gave me hell on a 12ft ultralight crappie rod. Had a blast and will be there often. Stop by if you see a 18ft blue and white Alumacraft with a really big guy on the bow and a sexy woman on the back..... all our fish came from 22-26 ft if water.
What are y'all fishing with at Harris? Live bait or jigs? I went a couple days during Thanksgiving week but didn't catch anything. Tried minnows the first day (they were pretty sad minnows though, I miss the Tackle Box) and tried vertical jigging the 2nd day.
Like I said earlier. This was the first time ever going but I tried jigs (jigging and trolling) and caught nothing. We caught all of ours on minnows bottom dropping and moving about .3 mph. All our fish were scattered. I found lots of bait schools but just couldn’t find any fish with them. Heading back this Sunday perhaps if weather forecast holds up.
