Staying Warm

Hi all
My wife and I love to fish and do so mainly from shore and we would like to lengthen our fishing season.
Springs have been so short and summers so hot, we are not young and are more temperature sensitive.

How do you all stay warm? Not toasty but comfortable to a degree (LOL).
Can't drain the bank for it but would like suggestions.

I carry along a Mr Heater, little buddy.

Quailty long johns, then layered clothing as needed. Waterproof or rubber boots with disposable foot warmer packs. Washable tube style hand warmer w/disposable warmer packs.

Take along a pair of wool socks. Don’t put them on until you get to your spot. If you put them on and start walking your feet will sweat which makes your socks wet and then you stop walking and your feet freeze. And as mentioned above. Dress in layers. You can always take some off but can’t put none on if you ain’t got it. And again a small propane heater. And last but certainly not least. Gloves and a covering for your face and ears

Biggest thing IMHO get you some Gortex or Gore windstopper clothing.
I can start getting cold, put one of those on and be warm In 5 minutes.

Thermacell battery foot warmer pads and smartwool socks for the feet and and BlackRock Gear down hat for the head, layers of clothing, gortex outer for wind and wetness. Down Hats | Seattle | Black Rock Gear. Granted, it’s all alittle pricey but in the long run staying warm and dry is what it’s all about.

I have a set of Refridgiwear that keep me toasty warm. It is made for working in cold conditions like meat processing. I have been using it for about three years and could not be happier.

1or 2 pair of insulated underwear a warm coat and over sized insulated coveralls ,rubber slip on boots or pac boots,latex gloves under rag wool gloves remove rag wool before taking fish off .a full face covering stocking hat.if you were in central Illinois I would give you 2 pair of insulated coveralls ,I replaced a pair with a broken zipper ,and found that I had 6 extra pair that I had picked up at garage sales.

Good long underwear, I like black Russel base layers from Walmart. With those I'm generally comfortable down in blue jeans, a decent jacket, and good boots. At least for weather that you could fish in.
