I have a question The little bodies We usually pulled off feathers Through Problem would be After you put a jig Head In the plastic I'm Just wondering how long the world The feathers for last We've been thinking about taking superglue With a needle In squirting yet inside the body to hold the feathers.
The way I usually do it As we usually tie the feathers directly to the jig and And put them in the mold And shoot the plastic.
So I don't know how The big boys do it Just curious if anybody knew.
Bob.
Since I have the mold I changed how I do my jelly bodies. Remember I used to use a needle and pull the tail material through the jelly body and then snip it and use Loctite to adhere the jelly body to the jig head. Loctite is much better than super glue in my opinion.
Now, I just place the jig head in the vice, wrap a few starter threads on the shank then tie on the thread material. No Sally Henson nail polish is needed because when you place it in the mold and shoot the jig then the soft plastic you inject holds it securely in place. You can still use Loctite to adhere it to the jig head.
When the lure is no longer useful, I just remove the jelly body and repeat the same process using the same or a different jig head.
I figured out a way to keep the feathers inside a plastic body I get a piece of wire and get it hot in then we push it into the plastic body beside the feathers and pull the wire back out if takes the feathers with the hard plastic in it just like superglue but a lot better .
