Where can I launch to fish the diversion canal off the Amite River? Looks like I’d be a long run from Fred’s.

If you don't mind the drive and run, then you can launch at St. James on Airline (about 4 miles south of I10)...then run down Blind River to Diversion....pretty boat ride....and you can cover both rivers....
PS where would I find the launch at St. James, remember I’m a north LA fishermen.

From St James Boat Club launch (hwy 61) it's about a 12 mile boat ride to the Diversion Canal. Canal Bank launch (hwy 22) or Hill Top launch (Bayou Pierre Dr) or Fred's launch (hwy 42) would be closer but have to go though the no wake zones (notice the "s" on zones). It all depends where at on the Diversion Canal you want to go it starts at the Amite River weir and ends at Blind River. ----> Google map it <---- Instead I would fish the canals off the Diversion Canal like the Amite River, Petite Amite (some call it Smith Bayou but it's not), and off Blind River the Joe Bourgeois Canal (sac-a-lait) and Bayou Chene Blanc into the Chinquapin Canal (good fly fishing bream area). Can also get into the Chinquapin Canal from the Amite River near Whitehall / Maurepas. Blind River area was my old stomping grounds.
Thanks ZZ for the hook up.
