Friday 10-12-19 Lake Monroe
Things started out good. I got up before the alarm and had the coffee going before the wife got up. Loaded the boat up, and got a bite to eat with the wife before I left. Fridays I meet up with lobsterman and we use my boat.
I hit the ramp and I'm number four in the lot. I stage the boat and wait for Les because I'm a bit early. He pulls into the lot with his boat (????) Seems like there was a lack of communication !! We decide to launch both boat but anchor up Les' and fish from mine. We head out to sign #2 and make the transfer. We set our rods and get down to business.
We work the area for awhile only to see rods in other boats bend but none in ours. We decide to move. We pickup Les' boat and head to our next spot. We get there and we are not alone. Les anchors up and makes the transfer. We set our pattern and watch the other rods bend again.
But Les' phone rings and he needs to go home. Back to his boat and he heads out. ( I guess that there was a reason for the mix up ). Things are still slow. (still have not bent a rod yet). I think it might be time to try some new water, I troll out of the area. It's getting hot but I hate to give up. I point the boat towards the ramp. ( it's going to be hard to wash the skunk off the boat ).
I re set the lines and change up lures again and work my way in. I'm starting to pick up some weeds and I have to keep clearing the lines. As I lift the last rod to clear it, it wiggles. Fish on!! It'snot big but it's a fish ! Skunk off !! I call it a day and head in.
It was a beautiful morning. A little windy at first but it calmed down as the sun got higher. I kept the skunk off the boat and I don't have to clean any fish tonight. Not a bad day !!
See ya all on the water next time
